Lead buying

Buying leads vs running your own ads

Neither is automatically better. The question is whether you can fund a learning phase and whether your close rate absorbs a fixed per-lead cost.

Most local operators eventually do both. The mistake is doing them in the wrong order, or funding a testing period while existing inquiries go unanswered for hours.

What you are really buying

An ad budget buys impressions plus a testing period — creative, audiences, forms, landing pages and the weeks it takes an algorithm to find your buyer. A lead price buys a qualified inquiry with that testing already paid for by someone running the market at volume.

How to decide this month

Buying leads usually fits when:

  • You need predictable volume in the next 30 days
  • Your close rate is strong enough to absorb a fixed per-lead cost
  • You can respond within minutes, every day, including evenings

The realistic answer

Buy leads for volume now; build owned demand for compounding later. If your response process cannot handle the leads you already have, fix that first — it is free and it changes every other number in the model.
